Terrible experience with this church. Charity is preached throughout the Bible. Helping fellow Christians is paramount in Christianity. Canaan Christian Church helped me with money for my rent as I was a single parent struggling. Upon meeting three ladies from the church at McDonalds to conduct this supposed "charity" I became concerned about the paperwork I was presented with as well as the cold, crass, and unfriendly demeanor of these three "Christians". As we spoke I quickly realized that I was not being given charity from a loving church community but rather being presented with loan options as if I were doing business with a loan company. Reluctantly I worked out said "loan options", conveyed my thanks and walked away discouraged about what had just happened. If I wanted to pull out a loan from a loan company then I would have. I did not have money for anything for me and my child at the time and certainly did not have it for a loan. Sometime later I was then taken to court for said loan and now it is showing up on my credit and is in public records. After signing paperwork at court I was told that this church would contact me and that I should try to make arrangements with them. I have still not been contacted by Canaan Christian Church and I am disgusted at the business being done in this church. I'd also wager that they have written off this loan as a "charitable contribution" and have received tax credits for it despite the judgement against me they have created. This was an appalling, disgusting, and completely sacrilegious display of Bible teaching and Christian morality.
